Blue River Soaps makes fine handmade
soaps from scratch. Once you use my soaps, you won’t want to go back to the cheap ‘detergent bars’ you’ve
been using. My soaps are made in my kitchen one small batch at a time, using the finest ingredients. The best soap making
oils are used to insure soap that is gentle, moisturizing, long-lasting, and has a wonderful lather. Most of my soap
is made with olive oil, coconut oil, palm oil, cocoa butter, shea butter, castor oil, and palm stearic. Each of these oils
and butters is chosen because it contributes some benefit to the soap, such as mildness, rich lather, moisturizing, good cleansing
ability, or hardness. I also use the finest fragrance oils and essential oils, soap coloring, and herbs and botanicals. I've
been perfecting my recipes over the past six years and think I have it just right! I sell my products at two events
each year, or contact me if you need something at another time. Autumnfest at John A. Logan Community College in Carterville,
IL, will be held in early November, 2009 (I don't have the dates yet). My open house this year will be Saturday,
December 5, 2009 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. We are building a house in Carbondale and will be moved in by summer, 2009.
